Located on the top two floors overlooking City Market. Same footprint as the Traditional King but with upgraded high thread-count linens, a dry bar with wood countertop, bistro table and chairs, and custom artwork. The bathroom gets a floor-to-ceiling tile walk-in shower plus a soaking tub and defogging mirror.
King
Deluxe King Balconette
Penthouse floor with a private balconette looking out over State or Linguard Street. Hand-picked artwork and vintage charm pair with the dry bar, bistro table, and luxurious king bed. The balconette is petite — more of a Juliet balcony than a full terrace — but gives you the street-level atmosphere of the city.
KingDeluxe King Courtyard
The highest-end king room in the lineup — same 382 sq ft inside but with a private furnished courtyard that sets it apart. Perfect for butler-delivered breakfast outdoors or a quiet cocktail after a long day on the cobblestones. Features a sitting area with two armchairs and a bistro table.
KingDeluxe Suite
Meticulous and polished — locally made king bed, spa-like bathroom, a built-in armoire, bistro table, and a separate seating area with upscale furnishings. Small footprint for a suite, but impeccably finished.
KingGrand Suite
The largest room in the house at 550 sq ft. Views over State and Market Streets from a spacious seating area. A wood countertop refreshment area, a white marble bathroom with floor-to-ceiling glass shower AND a separate soaking tub. This is the one to book for a real splurge.
KingPremier Balcony Suite
The room that leans into the Charleston tradition of the front porch — a private furnished wraparound balcony makes it special. Wake up in the custom king bed, have breakfast delivered by your butler, then take it outside. Custom millwork, a built-in armoire, and beautiful bathrooms round things out.
KingTraditional Double Queen
Art Deco-inspired sanctuary overlooking Linguard Street. Dark wood accents and gold trim contrast soft grays and neutrals. Two luxury queen beds with upholstered headboards, a luxe armchair, built-in armoire, and bistro table and chairs. Sleeps up to four, making it the best pick for families or friends traveling together.
Two QueenTraditional King
A boudoir-like guest room with a luxurious custom-made king bed, luxe armchair, and spa-like bathroom with a glass shower. Elegant and restrained — all the Spectator signatures without extra frills.
KingTraditional King Accessible
The same elegant Traditional King setup with full accessible features: grab bars in the bathroom, 32-inch-wide doorways, audible alarms, lowered emergency evacuation instructions, and wheelchair accessibility throughout. No steps.

Spectator-branded bikes available to borrow for exploring the Historic District. Charleston's flat terrain and close-together landmarks make cycling a genuinely good way to see the city. The Battery, Rainbow Row, and Waterfront Park are all within easy riding distance.
Guests have complimentary access to the fitness studio at the sister property French Quarter Inn, a 1-minute walk from The Spectator. Equipped with two Peloton bikes, an elliptical, treadmill, free weights, and other fitness equipment. Available daily 5 AM–9 PM.
Every Wednesday, local musician Gillian Kohn performs live at The Bar from 5–6:30 PM. Half-price wine bottles are offered during the set. No cover, no reservation needed.
Every guest gets a named personal butler — the only hotel in Charleston to offer this. Butlers handle light pressing and steaming, shoe shining, tour planning, dining reservations, transportation arrangements, spa bookings, food and beverage delivery, and packing/unpacking services.
