Why It Matters
MICHELIN Guide listed and part of Tablet Hotels' curated collection. Nationally known from its starring role in Season 2 of Magnolia Network's 'Inn the Works,' which documented the property's full renovation. One of the few genuinely affordable boutique motels in a Berkshires market dominated by expensive inns.
A 1959 roadside motor court on Route 7 in New Ashford, Massachusetts that spent 20 years shuttered before designer Lindsey Kurowski bought it in 2021 and rebuilt it as a retro-chic Berkshires destination — all documented on Magnolia Network's 'Inn the Works' Season 2. Current owner Brian Duke took the keys in early 2025 and is running it year-round. The kidney-shaped pool, vintage camper bar trailer, string-lit front lawn, and retro Frigidaire mini-fridges in every room are the main draw. But don't expect a full-service hotel: front desk hours are limited (roughly 9am–6pm), check-in is self-service with a door code, and a second building on the 8.5-acre property is still pending renovation.

On Property
How you'll actually spend your days.
Charcoal grills available on the front lawn for guest use. Pairs well with the fire pit and picnic table setup.
Multiple wood-burning fire pits on the 13,000 sq ft front lawn. Wood and s'mores available for purchase at a reasonable price per guest reports. Best experienced after dark under the string lights.
The property has on-site trail access and a dog walk area. Mount Greylock State Reservation — the highest peak in Massachusetts — is about a 10-minute drive.
The expansive front lawn features lawn games including cornhole. The turf area (former parking lot) is designed for socializing and outdoor play.
The signature 1960s kidney-shaped pool, renovated with retro poolside furniture, modern landscaping, and elevated pool floats. Has a deep end — relatively rare for a property like this. Mountain views from the deck.
Jiminy Peak Mountain Resort is 2.3 miles from the motel — the closest ski mountain in the Berkshires. The Springs makes an affordable and well-located base for ski days.
