The St. Regis Osaka
Classic European luxury with deliberate Japanese accents — formal without being stiff, traditional without being dated. Suites are named after Japanese flowers and trees. Gold, silk, and dark marble dominate the interiors. It skews toward business travelers and couples who want ceremony and ritual built into their stay.
Book suites on the 27th floor for the most sweeping city views — rooms above the 15th floor offer noticeably better panoramas
Why It Matters
The only St. Regis in Japan. Opened 2010 as Osaka's first new international luxury hotel in over a decade. All five dining outlets are overseen by or inspired by Michelin two-starred chef Ryuta Iizuka (including Teppanyaki WAJO and the new Brasserie RÉGINE, which opened April 2025). The daily Champagne Sabrage Evening Ritual and signature 'Shogun Mary' (a Bloody Mary with yuzu, wasabi, and soy sauce) are legitimately fun St. Regis brand touches.
The St. Regis Osaka sits right on Midosuji Avenue — Osaka's ginkgo-lined answer to the Champs-Élysées — 27 stories tall, designed by Nikken Sekkei and opened in October 2010. It was the first international luxury hotel to open in the city in 13 years, and it shows: the hotel leans hard into the classic St. Regis formula of European elegance filtered through Japanese sensibility. Black marble bathrooms, Kawashima silk headboards, round-the-clock butler service, and a dining lineup anchored by a Michelin two-starred chef make this one of the most serious luxury addresses in the Kansai region.
