The Stoneleigh
High-glamour maximalism meets Art Deco heritage. Bold Dorothy Draper-inspired patterns, deep velvets, lacquered finishes. Feels more like a private club than a chain hotel.

Why It Matters
A 1923 Dallas landmark that has been entirely reimagined by London design studio Fettle. The 11th-floor suites occupy what was once a private penthouse designed by Dorothy Draper herself — the Music Room still has its original minstrels' balcony and 500-year-old wood paneling from London's Charterhouse School. Chef Michael White, holder of five simultaneous Michelin stars, runs the entire food and beverage program.
The Stoneleigh opened in 1923 as the tallest hotel west of the Mississippi, and after a century of cocktail parties, cultural legends, and a dramatic rebrand, it's back as Uptown Dallas's most ambitious statement hotel. The interiors by London studio Fettle channel Dorothy Draper's maximalist energy — bold geometry, rich velvets, high-pile wool carpets, and 500-year-old wood paneling on the 11th floor — while the culinary program by James Beard winner Chef Michael White is serious enough to pull in locals who've never booked a room. This is not a quiet retreat; it's a hotel that wants to be the center of the party.
