The Times Square EDITION
Modern luxury with Ian Schrager's signature residential-cool aesthetic. Dark, sensual palettes offset by lush greenery. More boutique-feeling than the room count suggests.
Request a higher floor for quieter rooms and better Times Square views — lower floors have been flagged for noise in guest reviews.
Why It Matters
The first luxury hotel to open in Times Square in decades, and the property that proved the neighborhood could support a real design-forward, chef-driven hotel. Ian Schrager conceived it; Michelin-starred Chef John Fraser runs all the food. It's essentially the anchor property that repositioned Times Square for a higher-spending traveler.
Ian Schrager's answer to the question of whether Times Square can be made cool — and the short answer is yes, with enough floor-to-ceiling windows and a Michelin-starred kitchen. This 40-story, 452-room tower sits at the corner of 47th and 7th, right in the middle of all that neon, but the interiors are calm, moody, and residential. Think Le Labo toiletries, custom furniture, and a brasserie full of lush tropical foliage. The dining and nightlife program is genuinely excellent — Paradise Club is a full theatrical production — and the fitness center wraps an open-air deck with Midtown views.
