Why It Matters
One Michelin Key. The brand's only US property, inside a landmarked 1891 Vanderbilt building. Café Zaffri is run by the all-female team (James Beard nominees Mary Attea and Camari Mick) behind the Michelin-starred Musket Room and the perennially packed Raf's. Hotel guests automatically get temporary members' club access — meaning the nightclub, lounge, and terrace are yours for the duration.
The Twenty Two New York is the London members' club's first US outpost — named for its sister's address at 22 Grosvenor Square, Mayfair — and it landed in a genuinely great building: the 1891 Margaret Louisa Home, built by heiress Margaret Louisa Vanderbilt as a residence for working women. Now restored and reimagined, the nine-story Union Square brownstone houses 78 rooms and suites, the public-facing Café Zaffri restaurant, and layers of members-only spaces that hotel guests can access. The vibe is decidedly fashion-forward and social — candlelit, artwork-hung, and consistently full of people who look like they know something you don't.

A gym kitted out with Technogym equipment, available around the clock to hotel guests. Located in the cellar level of the brownstone. Moody wood panelling and parquet floors make it look like a study — which apparently makes it harder to skip. Personal training sessions can be arranged on request.
