The Verb Hotel
Mid-century motel converted into a music-obsessed boutique hotel. Retro but not kitschy. Color-block windows, rock 'n' roll memorabilia, PacMan table at Hojoko, and a steaming heated pool in January.
Ask for a Stadium King or Queen room — you get a direct view of Fenway Park and can watch players arrive and depart.
Why It Matters
Formerly the Fenway Motor Hotel (opened 1959), it's the only hotel right next to Fenway Park and the only one where every room comes with a functioning record player and access to a 2,500-album vinyl library curated by Boston music insiders. The Backstage Trailers — ten custom stationary trailers between the hotel and the park — are genuinely one-of-a-kind in American hotel stays.
The Verb started life as the Fenway Motor Hotel in 1959, designed by architects Irving Salsberg and Ralph Leblanc as a two-story modernist roadside motel. Today it's the closest hotel to Fenway Park — a five-minute walk from the stadium — and leans hard into that proximity with a rock 'n' roll identity that actually earns it. Every one of the 93 rooms has a working Audio-Technica record player, and the lobby vinyl library tops 2,500 albums. The memorabilia covering the walls isn't decoration for decoration's sake; much of it was sourced directly from the archives of the Boston Phoenix and WBCN radio by people who actually lived through that scene.

How you'll actually spend your days.
Stay in one of ten custom stationary trailers between the hotel and Fenway Park. Designed to evoke life on the road — mixed metal and leather interiors, semi-private patios, rock memorabilia.
Year-round heated pool open 8am–10pm. Poolside bar available. Steaming outdoor swimming in a Boston winter is the kind of experience you don't forget.
The hallways and common areas function as an informal museum of Boston music history. Rare artifacts and authentic memorabilia sourced from the Boston Phoenix archives and WBCN Radio.
Browse the 2,500+ album lobby library, grab a record, and spin it on the Audio-Technica turntable in your room. Every room and Backstage Trailer has its own setup.
The Verb runs periodic vinyl LP giveaways via Instagram and Facebook, plus email newsletter promotions.
