The Verse is a 15-unit boutique aparthotel that opened in 2024 inside a restored historic five-storey building on Rua de São Bento, redesigned by Portuguese architect Carrilho da Graça. Apartments run from around 50 to 125 sqm and are stocked with fully equipped kitchens, Costa Nova crockery, Ode Winery wine, and books by Portuguese authors — it's residential living with a concierge on WhatsApp. The ground-floor vaulted cocktail bar, dressed in blush marble and burnt-orange accents, pulls in locals and expats alongside guests.
