The Westin Denver International Airport
Contemporary and clean — lots of white, dramatic arched ceilings, a faintly industrial lobby softened by a living plant wall and commissioned Colorado art. Feels modern without being sterile. Part business hotel, part genuine destination.
Request a high-floor runway view room — watching planes land at night is genuinely worth the upgrade
Why It Matters
It's the sole hotel inside DIA — a 25-yard walk through glass doors from the terminal's south end. No shuttle, no parking lot sprint. The hotel also holds LEED Platinum certification (one of the first major US airport hotels to earn it) and has recently completed a full renovation of rooms, lobby, Grill & Vine, and meeting spaces. The A-Line light rail stop sits directly at the property, putting Union Station 37 minutes away.
The only hotel physically connected to Denver International Airport's Jeppesen Terminal, the Westin DIA sits 14 stories tall inside the transit complex, with its lobby on the 6th floor. Floor-to-ceiling triple-pane soundproof windows face the runway, the Rockies, or the city skyline, and yes — you can actually watch planes land from your bed. It's airport-adjacent lodging done right, not just tolerated.

How you'll actually spend your days.
The hotel and transit complex houses a significant commissioned art collection by Colorado artists. Highlights include Mindy Bray's 150-foot mural at the hotel entrance (derived from Platte River photography), Wopo Holup's 24-karat gold-leaf aluminum Colorado River sculpture in the Grand Foyer, Heather Patterson's nine-panel layered artwork on the east foyer wall, Patrick Marold's 'Shadow Array' outdoor installation of 236 beetle-kill spruce logs near the train platform (a $2M commission), and Ned Kahn's wind-activated 'Field of Air' sculpture in the exterior plaza between the terminal and hotel ($2M commission). A self-guided tour map is available through the hotel concierge.
Denver International Airport offers public tours of the terminal, hotel, and plaza — including the architecture, public art, and transit center. Available to book through the airport or via Discover Denver Tours.
Non-guests or guests on long layovers can book day passes through ResortPass to access the heated saline pool, whirlpool, WestinWORKOUT fitness studio, and showers. Day room access also available for a quiet workspace or nap in a Westin Heavenly Bed.
The A-Line commuter rail station is attached directly to the hotel/transit center. Trains run to Union Station in downtown Denver in approximately 37–40 minutes, with departures every 15 minutes during peak hours and every 30 minutes off-peak. Fare is approximately $10. From Union Station, Coors Field, Ball Arena, the Denver Art Museum, and the 16th Street Mall are all within easy walking or ride distance.
The hotel's Run Concierge service can pair guests with a running partner familiar with routes around the airport area and broader Denver region. Good for road warriors trying to maintain a training routine during a layover.
