The Woodhouse Lodge
Mid-century A-frame exterior, Shaker-meets-upstate-bohemian interiors. Eclectic but focused — handmade leather headboards, Brooklinen linens, vintage furniture, no TV. Boutique summer camp vibes for adults without the noise.
There's no TV in any room — intentional. Bring a book or lean into the disconnection.
Why It Matters
Designed and lived in by the hotelier herself (Megan Pflug, a former Brooklyn interior designer), every room feels personal. Each of the ten rooms has its own unique hand-stamped leather headboard pattern. MICHELIN Guide selected. Doubles as one of the most sought-after small wedding venues in the Catskills, with capacity for up to 150-person events.
The Woodhouse Lodge is a 10-room boutique hotel in Greenville, NY, carved out of a 1962 motor lodge by Brooklyn-transplant interior designer Megan Pflug and her artist husband J. Penry. The mid-century A-frame exterior stayed; inside, they swapped any Sixties nostalgia for warm Shaker-meets-bohemian interiors that feel genuinely personal rather than designed-by-committee. Fourteen acres of tree-lined lawn, outdoor fire pits, a hammock grove, and on-site woodfired pizza make it very easy to forget you intended to do anything else.
