Why It Matters

Therme Laa is a 4-star Superior thermal spa resort in the Weinviertel wine country of Lower Austria, about an hour from Vienna by train. The property runs on a sodium-chloride-iodine mineral spring tapped at 42°C, which feeds an enormous 7,800m² public water world plus a separate, hotel-exclusive 2,600m² spa. The real standout is the award-winning SILENT SPA — an adults-only premium day spa with Gothic-inspired tracery architecture that creates a genuinely serene atmosphere unlike anything in a standard hotel wellness center.

The top hotel room category. Only two of these exist. At 60m² they offer corner glazing, a proper living area, and full suite amenities. If you want the most space in the main hotel building, this is it.

The entry-level hotel room and the most numerous category. Modern design, available in Birch (light wood with red textiles) or Walnut (dark wood with green textiles) styles. Parquet floors, flat-screen TV, minibar, safe, individually adjustable air conditioning, and a private loggia.

Ten standalone adults-only private villas set around the resort's own bathing pond. Each is fully barrier-free and includes a sleeping/living area with fireplace, private Finnish sauna, experience shower, and freestanding bathtub. The covered terrace (around 31m²) has a whirlpool tub, outdoor loungers, and direct access to the swimming pond. Breakfast is served in-villa or from the hotel buffet. New in 2024-2025: access to the SILENT SPA is now included. Concierge service and valet parking come standard.
