Why It Matters
The only MICHELIN Key residential resort on Kauai. Home to the Jack Nicklaus Signature Ocean Course — the longest stretch of oceanfront golf in all of Hawaii. Timbers Kaua'i is an oceanfront private residence club and vacation rental resort commanding the premier position within the 450-acre Hōkūala resort on Kauai's sunny southeastern coast. All accommodations are full 2-to-4-bedroom residences — think chef's kitchens, private lanais, and plunge pools — not hotel rooms. It holds a MICHELIN Key for both 2024 and 2025, making it the only residential offering on Kauai with that distinction.

Kaiholo Residences
The most dramatically positioned residences at the resort, with lanais extending to the ocean's edge — the line between inside and outside is genuinely hard to locate. Sea-inspired interiors use shades of blue and natural stone with granular movement that mirrors the water. Outdoor rain showers and plunge pools come standard. Three or four bedrooms, each with ensuite. The two-tiered infinity pool is right at the foot of this building.

Lāola Nani Townhomes
The flagship three-bedroom townhome at Timbers Kaua'i, with dual upstairs Master Suites positioned to catch both sunrise and sunset. The chef's kitchen is genuinely impressive: Thermador Pro Grand Series appliances, wine/beverage cooler, custom mosaic tile backsplash, natural stone countertops. A private pool and built-in BBQ dominate the generous lanai. Oceanfront views are the standard. An 855-sq-ft main-level lanai on the listed example gives a sense of the outdoor scale.

Bi-level townhomes perched directly above the oceanfront green of the 15th hole on the Ocean Course. Views span from Ninini Point Lighthouse to the Hā'upu mountains. Folding glass walls open the living spaces completely to the outdoors. Private plunge pools and outdoor showers on lanais. Three or four bedrooms, all with ensuites. The bi-level layout gives a real sense of a standalone home.

Maliulā Residences
The entry point into Timbers Kaua'i. Two- or three-bedroom residences with at least three private lanais overlooking the Pacific. Interiors feature greyed woods, textured white oak flooring, silvered iridescent stone tile, and floor-to-ceiling windows that throw the ocean into every room. Close access to the Ocean Course and the Maliulā ohana pool. Each unit is just over 2,000 sq ft at the three-bedroom configuration.

The 18-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature Ocean Course features the longest continuous stretch of oceanfront golf in all of Hawaii. The back nine plays along dramatic seaside cliffs with views of two different oceanfront lighthouses. Acclaimed as 'North America's Best Golf Course' and 'World's Most Beautiful Course' by various publications. Open to resort guests and the public. The Hōkūala Teaching Center offers lessons from PGA instructors. Note: Clubhouse is currently under renovation (expected completion September 2026); temporary facilities in place. Greens fees in the $200–$300+ range.
Two tennis courts and three pickleball courts set against the backdrop of the Hā'upu Mountains. Available exclusively for Timbers Kaua'i owners and guests. Equipment available from the Toybox. Reserve via concierge.
Guided hands-on tours of the 16.5-acre organic farm and orchard. Guests harvest herbs, taste fruits, smell fresh cinnamon leaves, and help plant the next season's crops. The farm grows over 50 vegetable varieties, 30 fruit trees, and traditional Hawaiian canoe plants like kalo (taro), noni, and ulu (breadfruit). Farm Baskets of just-harvested produce are also available for in-residence delivery. Arrange via concierge.
Guests have access to the resort's 'Toybox' — a collection of equipment for self-guided exploration including e-bikes, paddleboards, surfboards, kayaks, and tennis/pickleball gear. Use them to explore the 13 miles of trails and lagoons within the 450-acre Hōkūala resort.
