Why It Matters
Genuinely occupies two restored 16th-century aristocratic palaces with original frescoes and art objects. The dining program is led by Michelin-starred Chef Iside de Cesare (of La Parolina fame). The Aria Rooftop delivers arguably the most dramatic Duomo views of any hotel bar in the city. And the Milton Bar is named after the poet John Milton, who reportedly found inspiration here for Paradise Lost during his 1638 stay.
Two 16th-century Florentine palaces — once belonging to the noble Gaddi and Arrighetti families — have been painstakingly restored and merged into this 5-star hotel in the heart of the Centro Storico. The frescoed salons, original artworks, and period furnishings are all still here; interior designers Patrizia Quartero and Guy Oliver just added marble bathrooms and decent Wi-Fi. The star of the show is the rooftop bar with a direct sightline to the Duomo — one of the best views in Florence, full stop.

Deluxe Room
The entry point into the palazzo, and still very much a proper room. Period-influenced décor, solid wood accents, and marble bathrooms with either a rainfall shower or soaking tub. Minibar, safe, and satellite TV are all included. Some rooms are on the compact side — a known trade-off for staying inside a 16th-century building.
Duplex Suite
Spread across two floors connected by an internal staircase. The lower level is a large living room; the upper floor holds the bedroom. An unusual and genuinely palatial setup for a city hotel.
Junior Suite
More generous in scale, with a separate sitting area and plush seating. Marble bathroom retains the palazzo character. Select junior suites have a private terrace — room 505 specifically is a fan favourite with a terrace and Duomo view.
Premium Room
Comfortable and spacious with upgraded views — some look out toward the Duomo. Large flat-screen TV, choice of shower or bathtub, and a writing desk setup that works for business travelers too.
KingPresidential Suite
The top of the house. Private panoramic terrace with views directly over the Duomo and Florence's skyline — one of the most dramatic outlooks in the city. The living room is frescoed, the bathroom is full marble, and private in-room dining is available on the terrace.
