Why It Matters
One of Germany's most recognisable Baltic Sea hotels — the 1908 Kurhaus building is the defining landmark of Ostseebad Binz and has drawn celebrity guests for over a century. It occupies the absolute prime spot on the promenade, steps from the pier.
A Baltic Sea landmark since 1908, the Kurhaus Binz sits directly on the Strandpromenade right next to Binz's famous pier. The grand white building — imperial-era spa architecture at its most theatrical — was taken over by A-ROSA Hotels in 2024, rebranded from Travel Charme, and got freshened interiors while keeping its original stucco, mullioned windows, and soaring atrium lobby intact. It's 137 rooms spread across the main Kurhaus, the Kaiserhof wing, and a cluster of freestanding Residences just behind the property. Rooms face either the Baltic or the countryside, and the upper tower suites have the best sightlines on the island.

The hotel sits directly on the promenade with the sandy Binz beach immediately outside. No transfer needed — walk out the door.
Guided beach hikes are part of the hotel's regular guest program. Self-guided walks along the promenade and toward the chalk cliffs at Jasmund are popular year-round.
Cycling is available as a hotel activity with bike rentals accessible. Rügen has well-developed cycling paths through the Granitz forest and along the coast.
