A 19th-century Ottoman distillery on the Asian bank of the Bosphorus, gutted and reimagined by French architects into something genuinely special. Vakko — Turkey's foremost luxury fashion house, founded in 1934 — runs this place, and it shows in every deliberate detail: Vakko-branded robes, a Parisian patisserie in the lobby, Istanbul's first Caviar Kaspia, and an on-call tailor who can make you a suit in your room. Just 12 rooms and suites, all with Bosphorus views, all adults-only. The location in Çengelköy is serene and residential — a different world from the European side — and getting here by boat is the right way to arrive.

Six of these two-floor maisonettes, each at least 60 sqm plus a 15 sqm private garden terrace with a dining table for two and a pair of sunbeds. The most private setup in the hotel — you can have breakfast outside on the terrace without seeing another guest. Inside: king bed, lounge area with fireplace, marble bathroom with steam bath and rain shower.

Five of these on the second floor — the entry-level option, though nothing about a 30 sqm Bosphorus-view room with a king bed and fireplace feels entry-level. Tall arched windows frame the water. En-suite marble bathroom. Compact by suite standards, but every inch is deliberate.

Suite Bosphorus
At 55 sqm, this suite adds a separate lounge area to the bedroom — good if you want somewhere to decompress without sitting on the bed. The all-marble bathroom is a step up: steam bath and rain shower included. One of the best views in the hotel through its Bosphorus-facing windows.
