Why It Matters
Slovenia's first member of Design Hotels and the only property of its kind in Ljubljana's car-free old town. Architecture by award-winning Slovenian firm Sadar+Vuga. Two Michelin Plate-recognized restaurants on-site. During 2011 renovations, excavations revealed a Roman harbor embankment directly beneath the building — which tracks, given the street (Krojaška ulica) was where medieval tailors and shoemakers once worked.
Four Baroque townhouses on the bank of the Ljubljanica River, stitched together into one 20-room boutique hotel. The architecture firm Sadar+Vuga gutted and rebuilt the interiors in concrete, glass, and steel while keeping the old facades intact. It's small, visually striking, and — at peak summer — the rooftop infinity pool with its view over Ljubljana's terracotta rooftops is genuinely hard to beat.

Bike rental can be arranged through the hotel for exploring Ljubljana and beyond. The city's pedestrian and cycling infrastructure makes this genuinely useful.
One dedicated meeting room. The rooftop terrace can also be hired for private events — cocktail receptions, birthday parties, weddings, and corporate gatherings. The hotel actively markets this and has an events team.
Seasonal rooftop infinity pool open in summer (10:00–18:00). Sun loungers, city views over Ljubljana's tiled rooftops, drinks ordered poolside. Intimate — this is a small pool at a 20-room hotel, not a sprawling resort lap pool. Note: terrace can be closed without prior notice for private events.
