Why It Matters
Each of the 8 suites is named after and decorated in the personality of a Barberini family character — The Explorer, The Artist, The Diva, The Libertine, etc. — creating genuinely individual spaces rather than category rooms. Listed on Tablet Hotels. The on-site restaurant, Rosso Corbezzolo, changes its menu every three days using seasonal, local produce and opens a few tables to non-guests.
A hilltop property on a private hill at 150m above sea level, Vedetta Relais sits on the Barberini family estate surrounded by 15 hectares of woodland and olive groves overlooking the Gulf of Follonica. Eight character-named suites — each one a themed portrait of a family ancestor — fill a lovingly restored historic villa where antique ceilings meet design furniture and 18th-century dressers. It's adults-only, genuinely pet-welcoming, and run with the kind of personal hospitality that makes you feel like you've been invited to stay at someone's home, not checked into a room number.
