Why It Matters
Holds both a Michelin Star (Vila Foz Restaurant, since 2022) and a Michelin Key for the hotel itself (2025). Interior design by celebrated Portuguese designer Nini Andrade Silva. One of the few Porto properties combining serious fine dining, a proper spa, and direct Atlantic coastline access.
Vila Foz is a converted 19th-century manor house on Porto's Atlantic coast in the Foz do Douro neighborhood, sitting right across a leafy boulevard from the beach. The original Palacete has been meticulously restored, its stucco ceilings, gilt cornices and period architecture all intact — then paired with a sleek contemporary extension that speaks in eclectic patterns and onyx accents. Interior designer Nini Andrade Silva coined her own term for the style: 'Ninimalism.' Two Michelin-recognized restaurants, a spa with Anne Semonin treatments, and 66 rooms with bathrooms in travertine and gold round out a property that takes Portuguese design seriously.
