Why It Matters
The only lodging in the world with a private gate directly into the Valley of the Temples UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Temple of Concordia is 200 metres from the front door and lit up at night — visible from many rooms, the pool, and the restaurant terrace.
Villa Athena Resort is the only hotel that sits inside the UNESCO-listed Archaeological Park of the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento. The Temple of Concordia — a 5th-century BC Doric masterpiece — stands 200 metres from the property. This late-18th-century private residence was recently restored and today holds 27 rooms and suites, a spa built around an ancient Greek cistern, a terrace restaurant with direct sightlines to two Greek temples, and its own private entrance into the archaeological park.
