Villa Caletas sits 1,150 feet above the Central Pacific coast on a rainforest hilltop, and that elevation is basically the whole story. The place is built around views — Pacific sunsets, Scarlet Macaws in flight, the dense green canopy rolling down to the ocean. But the vibe is old-world elegant, not nature-lodge rustic. Think tropical Victorian architecture with neo-classical flourishes, French-owner eccentricity, and rooms full of antiques, oriental rugs, and terracotta masks. There's a Greek amphitheater built specifically to watch the sunset. A private beach is down the mountain (accessible by hourly shuttle). And a deep-blue infinity pool at the top creates the unsettling-in-the-best-way illusion of merging with the Pacific below.

Honeymoon Suite
Two suites purpose-built for romance. Each has a private outdoor plunge pool with ocean and rainforest views, an outdoor Jacuzzi, and a king bed. The bathroom features both a bathtub and a separate shower. At 333 sq ft for the room plus a 193.5 sq ft terrace, these aren't enormous — but the private pool and panoramic setting are the point. Breakfast on the terrace with toucans and macaws flying past is the standard move here.

Junior Suite
The entry point to the suite tier. Private terrace with ocean and rainforest views. All standard Villa Caletas in-room amenities: minibar, coffee maker, A/C, satellite TV, safety box, hairdryer, room service.
KingJunior Suite Superior
Nine suites total — the largest category on property. Eight are located in a four-floor building a few hundred meters from reception, with golf cart service to the main building. Each has a king bed, a private office area where an extra bed can be added, and a private outdoor Jacuzzi with Herradura Bay views. The building shares one private swimming pool (guests only). The ninth suite, newly added, sits closer to reception with mountain and ocean views over the Nicoya Gulf.
KingMaster Suite
Two suites scattered across the property, each with a unique floor plan and view. Both have a king bed, lounge area with sofa, and a very spacious terrace with lounge chairs, hammock, dining table, and a private infinity plunge pool overlooking the Pacific. Bordered by tropical greenery, they feel genuinely removed from everything. A number of steps away from the main building — not ideal if mobility is a concern.
