Cascais Boutique Hotel
Old-world aristocratic residence meets bold cobalt-and-gold boutique hotel. Vintage bones, modern design sensibility. Each floor has a different colour scheme; rooms feel curated rather than generic. Small and personal — 12 rooms means staff actually know who you are.
Request reserved sunbeds at Praia da Conceição when booking — they're only available June to August, first-come-first-served, and run out quickly
Why It Matters
One of the very few Michelin Guide-listed boutique properties actually sitting on the Bay of Cascais seafront. The on-site Corleone Ristorante Al Mare is a serious Italian restaurant (part of the Grupo São Bento group behind Café de São Bento in Lisbon) that draws non-guests on its own merits. Add the wine bar with 48 Portuguese wines on tap, and there's genuine reason to stay in for dinner.
A 19th-century aristocratic residence right on the Bay of Cascais — a town with a centuries-long reputation as the playground of European royalty and the inspiration for Ian Fleming. The building has been carefully restored by Villa Collection, keeping original details like the traditional blue-and-white azulejo tiles at reception and a baroque-style mural in the dining area, while introducing bold cobalt-blue walls, gold accents, and polished parquet floors throughout. Twelve rooms range from compact but stylish to a top-floor Grand Deluxe with three terraces and 360° views over the bay. No on-site pool, but guests get access to the outdoor pool at sister property Hotel Albatroz, a short walk away.
