Villa Copenhagen
Historic Danish postal palace meets Nordic design hotel. High ceilings, muted palettes inspired by 19th-century painter Vilhelm Hammershøi, and a genuine sustainability ethos (not just greenwashing). Social and lively without being loud.

Why It Matters
One of the few large luxury hotels in Copenhagen with a heated outdoor rooftop pool, in a genuinely iconic heritage building. Part of Preferred Hotels & Resorts LVX collection and Historic Hotels Worldwide. Nordic Swan Ecolabel certified. The Rug Bakery is a destination in its own right for locals.
Villa Copenhagen opened in July 2020 inside the former Central Post & Telegraph Head Office — a landmark building from 1912 — just across the street from Tivoli Gardens and a one-minute walk from Central Station. The architects at Universal Design Studio kept the grandeur intact: herringbone oak floors, restored original windows, soaring ceilings, and gold accents throughout all 390 rooms. But the feel is more social loft than stiff grand hotel, with a rooftop pool heated by the building's own excess energy, a bakery-meets-wine-bar that draws locals, and DJ sets in the glass-ceilinged courtyard on weekends.
