Villa Cordevigo
Aristocratic Venetian country house. Think frescoed ceilings, wood-beamed rooms, terracotta bathrooms, and a courtyard with an artistic fountain at the centre. It's a working vineyard estate, not a resort complex, so the pace is slow and the experience is genuinely rural — with Michelin-star food added on top.
Book the Gourmet Stay package to combine a night with a 4-course Oseleta tasting menu — it's better value than booking separately and is available most nights (closed Tuesdays and Saturdays).
Why It Matters
One of the few Relais & Châteaux properties in the Veneto wine country with its own on-site winery (Vigneti Villabella), a 1-Michelin-star restaurant (Oseleta), and a spa. The estate dates to the 18th century and includes a Renaissance chapel from around 1400 with a collection of over 3,000 relics.
Villa Cordevigo is an 18th-century Venetian patrician estate turned 5-star wine relais, sitting in the hills above Lake Garda on a working vineyard that produces Bardolino classico under the Vigneti Villabella label. You arrive via a long gravel lane lined with ancient cypress trees, and the traditional stucco facade tells you exactly what you're in for: serious old-world elegance with real countryside around it. The estate is owned by the Cristoforetti and Delibori families and anchored by Restaurant Oseleta, which holds a Michelin star and a wine cellar stocking over 600 labels.
