Villa Haute Guais is a five-room luxury maison d'hôtes built in 1880 and set in a one-hectare wooded park above Prieuré Bay, looking straight across at the ramparts of Saint-Malo. Designer Sophie Bannier went unapologetically bold with the interiors: statement headboards in Vanderhurd fabrics, eclectic wallpapers, original Odorico mosaics, Chesterfield sofas, and room names borrowed from British aristocracy. It sits right on the chemin des douaniers coastal path — a private wicket gate in the garden leads you down to the beach. Guests dine together at a shared table under Chef Rémi Ledauphin, formerly of Hotel Castelbrac.

Deluxe Room "Elisabeth"
The entry-level room, and the most intimate of the five. Elisabeth sits on the first floor and works a striking black-and-white palette with warm accent tones. The Vanderhurd 'Crazy Paisley' headboard is monumental, the wall finish ('Plume') diffuses a soft light, and two studded 'Simon & Garfunkel' armchairs from Jules & Jim add a contemporary pop. Shower-only bathroom. No bathtub here.

Junior Family Suite "Diana"
The family suite at 45 m² with a dedicated children's corner that has two 'Bobbin' twin beds in anthracite with bright yellow bedside tables, its own sofa, and a separate mirror TV — so parents and kids each have their own space within the suite. The parents' zone has king bed, two 'Mischa' armchairs from Artwood, and curtains and headboard in Vanderhurd 'Petite Tulipe Indigo'. Ophélia collection wallpaper in Prussian blue and saffron yellow ties the two zones together. Walk-in shower, separate WC.

Junior Suite "Charlotte"
Charlotte faces the sea at 40 m² and has a proper lounge area — sofa by Gervasoni in 'Daintree' fabric by Clarence House, two 'Checker Checker' armchairs — separate from the sleeping zone. Vanderhurd's enchanted-forest wallpaper covers the walls, the headboard is upholstered in an exclusive 'Stellar Mist Sunrise' fabric, and Vanderhurd 'Flower Cut Out' curtains are hand-embroidered. Large Italian shower, separate WC. Good option for couples who want a sitting room but no kids.

The largest single room in the house at 49 m² and arguably the most spectacular. Henrietta sits on the first floor with an entire sea-view bow-window sitting area, high ceilings, and an orange-toned palette anchored by Vanderhurd's 'Delphine' wallpaper. The bathroom is a statement: terrazzo, zellige tiles, central freestanding bathtub, spacious Italian shower, and ceramic basin. You can see the Dinard coastline and the outskirts of Saint-Malo from the bed.

A corner room flooded with light from two aspects — garden on one side, Prieuré Bay on the other. The 41 m² Victoria leans into red-and-blue cheerfulness: a 'Crazy Paisley Embroidery' headboard, 'Checker Checker' armchairs by Vanderhurd, zellige tiles with a red stripe in the bathroom, terrazzo floors, and double basins from the Sarah Lavoine collection. Bathtub plus shower, Japanese-style separate WC. The sea view is real and constant.
