M Paris
Biophilic urban wellness resort meets design hotel. Raw materials — exposed concrete, warm wood, marble — combined with trailing plants, organic colors, and mirrors. Starck's 'inverted bar' concept places bartenders center-stage in the lobby. Feels warmer and less precious than many Paris design hotels.
The Sunday rooftop brunch (from May 10 weather permitting) is priced at €39 and open to non-guests — good value for the views
Why It Matters
The facade is a genuine living wall — a deep black steel exoskeleton planted with trailing vines and greenery across every floor. Philippe Starck described it as 'a machine around life.' There's no other hotel in Paris quite like it architecturally. The Suite Pasteur has a 26 m² terrace with direct sightlines to the Eiffel Tower.
Villa M is a 4-star hotel in the 15th arrondissement where Philippe Starck handled the interiors and artistic direction, while French-Brazilian studio Triptyque built the thing — a glass-and-steel structure sheathed in an actual living vertical garden, designed with landscape studio Atelier Coloco. The whole 8,000 m² project is organized around a wellness-forward concept: hotel, restaurant, bar, rooftop, boxing gym, co-working space, and medical consultation center all stacked under one very green roof. It opened in 2022 and is operated in partnership with Paris Society, the hospitality group also behind Perruche.
