Why It Matters
Selected by the Michelin Guide 2025 and affiliated with Tablet Hotels. The only hotel in Emilia-Romagna with a direct Hollywood connection. The estate grows its own Sangiovese and Trebbiano grapes, presses its own olive oil from 200-year-old Leccino trees, and feeds it all into the restaurant. The spa is designed by EFFE, a local Cesena company that leads in sauna and Turkish bath design. The Technogym Glass Garden — a heated outdoor glass pergola — is a rare amenity for a property this size.
A 1939 Art Deco villa on the Cesena hills, built by Hollywood silent-film comedian Mario Bianchi — better known by his stage name Monty Banks — and recently restored as an 11-room boutique agriresort. The architecture is English Liberty style with high ceilings and original oak parquet; the interiors are clean and contemporary with white Calacatta marble and Alpine green bathroom finishes. It runs a working 20-hectare farm that supplies the restaurant, makes its own Sangiovese wines and extra-virgin olive oil, and hosts a proper EFFE-designed spa. A genuinely unusual place for Emilia-Romagna.

The villa produces six wines: Lo Sceriffo (Sangiovese DOC), Grande Banks (Sangiovese Superiore Riserva DOC), Re Grosso (Sangiovese DOC), Gracie (Trebbiano DOC), Pittato (sparkling rosé Sangiovese brut), and 18/07 (classic-method extra brut). Extra-virgin olive oil 'Don Dino' from 200 hand-harvested Leccino trees. All available to taste and purchase.
The hotel can arrange guided shopping tours of the region with a professional guide for guests interested in local artisans and produce.
