Villa Nai 3.3
Architect-designed eco-luxury. Raw stone walls, Giorgetti furniture from Milan, Frette linens, and Agape marble bathrooms. Formal enough for Michelin, relaxed enough that the owner's family is usually around. Adults-only (12 and up). No pets.

Why It Matters
Croatia's only three Michelin Key hotel, and one of the second-smallest hotels in the Leading Hotels of the World. Designed by Nikola Bašić — the same architect behind Zadar's famous Sea Organ. The on-site olive oil holds the top ranking on the EVOO International World Ranking. Named by Condé Nast Traveller as one of Europe's top seven microhotels. A+ EU energy class, Green Destinations Bronze Certified, and Travelife Gold Certified — sustainability built into the structure, not bolted on afterward.
Eight rooms carved into a hillside on the island of Dugi Otok — that's the whole hotel. Croatian architect Nikola Bašić excavated the interior of a terracotta hill, used the extracted stone to build the walls, and topped the structure with a green roof that disappears into the olive grove above. The result is a one-floor, S-shaped property that reads from the outside as barely there. Inside, it feels more like a private yacht than a hotel, which is exactly what Bašić intended. It sits on a 40,000 sqm organic olive grove producing Croatia's most awarded olive oil, and every detail — food, spa treatments, even construction materials — flows from that same commitment to place.
