Villa Pétrusse
Heritage manor house with contemporary French design — intimate, art-filled, and deliberately understated. Think private residence, not grand hotel. The Relais & Châteaux DNA is strong: food-first, architecture-forward, small scale.
The Salon Bourbon bar has statement black, red, and gold decor — worth a drink even if you're not staying
Why It Matters
Le Lys restaurant earned a Michelin star (Michelin Guide Belgium & Luxembourg 2026) less than a year after opening, making it Luxembourg's newest gastronomic landmark. The property itself is a classified national monument — one of the few in Europe where guests sleep inside a protected 19th-century residence surrounded by century-old private parkland. Nearly €2 million was invested per room.
One of the last 19th-century bourgeois manor houses in Luxembourg City, Villa Pétrusse sat abandoned for nearly 30 years before a meticulous €40 million, five-year restoration gave it new life as a 22-room Relais & Châteaux hotel. Designed by architect Pierre Kemp in 1880, with gardens by Édouard André and interiors reimagined by Tristan Auer, every detail feels considered — from the worn stone staircases to the Sosthène Weis watercolor headboards in every room. The hotel is a national monument, and it feels like one.

The concierge team offers personalized recommendations for outings around Luxembourg City and the Grand Duchy — from wine country to hiking trails to cultural landmarks.
Complimentary bicycles available for guests to explore Luxembourg City's compact historic center and surrounding parks.
The hotel's private century-old park, designed by Édouard André (who also designed Paris's Buttes-Chaumont), is one of the few enclosed private green spaces in central Luxembourg City. Fountain, old-growth trees, and views of the Pétrusse Valley. Access is exclusively for guests.
Two state-of-the-art meeting rooms available for seminars, executive committees, and conferences. The Cour d'Honneur and gardens can host up to 80 guests for receptions, garden parties, and weddings.
A rare option in any hotel: tea pairings with the restaurant's menus, curated by tea sommelier Kiona Malinka. Teas are sourced directly from their estates around the world.
The hotel's wine cellar is built into the historic fortress casemates — vaulted underground passages beneath the property. Over 400 bottles, including rare vintages and vertical selections, presided over by the head sommelier. Tastings and masterclasses are available, and ephemeral art exhibitions are sometimes hosted among the stone walls.
