Villa Petriolo
Rustic Tuscan elegance meets serious sustainability credentials. Terracotta floors, exposed beams, four-poster beds, and 17th-century frescoes sit alongside a top-tier holistic spa and a Michelin-starred kitchen. Feels more like a working farm that happens to be a luxury hotel than a resort that's gone organic for the brochure.
Request a suite in the main historic villa for the 17th-century frescoes and traditional Tuscan feel — the wellness wing suites are more modern and contemporary in style.
Why It Matters
One of the most genuinely sustainable luxury properties in Italy. First agritourism in Europe with ISO 21401 certification. PS Ristorante holds both a Michelin Star and a Michelin Green Star. Honey, wine, olive oil, cheese, and organic produce all come directly from the estate's own land. The 170-hectare farm runs falconry, truffle hunting, horseback riding, and e-bike trails across its own grounds.
Villa Petriolo is a 15th-century Tuscan estate spanning 170 hectares of vineyards, olive groves, and woodland that has been painstakingly restored into a luxury agritourism retreat. The estate is organic to its core — free-range livestock roam the grounds, solar panels power water heating, and a 0km kitchen philosophy means everything from the honey to the Chianti flows from the land to the plate. It holds a Michelin Key (2025), a Michelin Green Star for PS Ristorante, and was the first agritourism in Europe to earn the ISO 21401 Sustainable Tourism certification.
