A 14th-century hilltop villa in the tiny hamlet of Moncioni, reimagined as a scattered 'hotel diffuso' by Florentine designer Massimo Tani. From the outside it's all classic Chianti stone; step inside and you get something more interesting — a confident minimalism that sidesteps the usual rustic-Tuscany clichés. Each room is genuinely one-of-a-kind, and the terrace restaurant spilling out alongside a lavender-edged pool with Chianti valley views is worth the trip alone.

Classic rooms are in the annexe buildings rather than the main villa, but all guests have full access to hotel facilities. Decorated to the same design standards as the rest of the property — same Massimo Tani aesthetic — just without the villa's historic architectural features. Good entry point for the property.

Deluxe
Located in the main villa building. Some have panoramic valley and Chianti hill views; others look onto the quieter village streets. Bathroom with shower or bath. The Marrakech Deluxe is frequently called out as having fantastic pool views. In Montagna Deluxe has wide twin four-poster beds. All designed by Massimo Tani — limed floorboards, pale olive-green wooden beds, natural textures.

Junior Suite
Spacious double rooms with a relaxation area and bathroom with shower. Plenty of room to spread out. Views are a highlight. Designed by Massimo Tani — each one is different in terms of furnishings and details, though all share the muted palette of beige, white, and grey.

The biggest rooms in the main villa. You get a double bedroom plus a separate living room and a bathroom with shower or bath. Views vary: some look out over the valley and surrounding hills, one has a small romantic balcony, others face the garden. These are the ones with timbered vaulted ceilings and proper Tuscan-historic atmosphere — and they come with every modern comfort.

The Tower (Dependance)
The smallest rooms in the collection, located in a nearby building within the village — not in the main villa. No valley or garden views, which is the main tradeoff. But you get the same luxury finishes, Nespresso machine, Smart TV, minibar, and Massimo Tani design. A good choice if budget matters more than the view.

Vin di Vino Mini Apartments (Dependance)
Self-contained mini apartments located in the Vin di Vino Restaurant building, about 25 metres from the main villa. Each one has its own character and style designed by Massimo Tani. Some have a small kitchen. Shared panoramic terrace. More independent setup than the main hotel rooms — good for those who want a bit of apartment-style flexibility alongside the hotel amenities.

Two-to-three-hour hands-on classes held in the spa building with the hotel chef. Groups of up to four guests learn to make Italian staples: handmade ravioli, gnocchi, tomato and bolognese sauce, pastries. Classes start at 10am or 11am. Must be booked at least one day in advance by 6pm.
