Bonjardim
Bold, locally-rooted design hotel. Colorful and playful, but grounded in authentic Portuguese craft materials. Not a generic chain stay — every corner references Porto's market culture and tile heritage.
Terraço do Jardim is open to non-guests and popular with locals — book a table ahead, especially on weekends
Why It Matters
Winner of 'Best Hotel Opened in 2024' at the New In Porto Awards. The Bolhão Market-inspired design is more than decorative — mosaics, terrazzo, and metalwork used in the market appear throughout. The rooftop Terraço do Jardim restaurant is independently popular with locals, not just guests. Received Booking.com Traveller Review Awards for both 2025 and 2026.
Opened in early 2024, Vincci Bonjardim takes its cues directly from the Mercado do Bolhão, the Beaux-Arts market right around the corner. Seven floors of boldly colored rooms — green, pink, terracotta — lean hard into traditional Portuguese design: painted ceramic tilework, marble surfaces, wrought-iron window frames, and parquet floors with industrial-chic details. The rooftop is genuinely the draw: a small heated pool, solarium, and the Terraço do Jardim restaurant with city views, weekend brunch, DJ sets, and cocktails. Rooms are compact by international standards but thoughtfully done. The Rua do Bonjardim itself was ranked the 3rd coolest street in the world by Time Out Global, and the hotel earns its spot on it.

How you'll actually spend your days.
The Mercado do Bolhão, the 19th-century Beaux-Arts market that inspired the hotel's entire design, is right around the corner. The hotel team can guide guests on the best time to visit and what to look for.
Live fado performances at the hotel, introduced from 2025 onward as part of the hotel's themed event programming. Porto fado is distinct from Lisbon fado — rawer and more working-class in origin.
The hotel has a dedicated Experiences page curating local Porto activities and city insider recommendations for guests.
Weekend DJ sets at Terraço do Jardim on the rooftop terrace. The hotel specifically calls out Sundays as a no-boring-Sundays policy, with resident DJs providing the soundtrack to city views.
Weekend brunch at Terraço do Jardim (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday). The rooftop setting with city views, brunch menu with Portuguese touches, cocktails, and natural juices. Popular with both guests and Porto locals.
