Vinilia Wine resort
Neo-eclectic castle-hotel meets relaxed Salento countryside. Think antique furniture alongside art deco touches, star-vaulted ceilings, and an informal Michelin restaurant with a large steel fireplace. Feels like a well-connected local family opened their ancestral home to guests.
Complimentary bicycles are available from reception to cycle the surrounding countryside.
Why It Matters
Casamatta Restaurant holds a Michelin star (awarded 2019) and the Green Michelin Star (2021, the first awarded in Apulia). The resort is directly affiliated with Trullo di Pezza, a 100-hectare Primitivo and Negroamaro vineyard, so guided tastings happen at the source.
A converted early-1900s aristocratic manor that genuinely looks like a small medieval castle — complete with turrets, battlements, and loopholes — set deep in Puglia's Primitivo wine country. The restoration by the Lacaita/Parisi family kept the original vaulted stonework and three-floor rampant staircase intact, then layered in 1950s–60s design objects, iron-and-wood beds made by local craftsmen, and Grottaglie ceramics. Eighteen rooms, a Michelin-starred restaurant, a spa, and ties to a nearby 100-hectare vineyard make this more than just a place to sleep.
