Walch's Rote Wand Gourmet Hotel

Stay 5+ nights to unlock the full culinary package: Chef's Table, fondue night at the Stuben, and a Friends & Fools dinner event are automatically included (outside high season)
Why It Matters
The Rote Wand Chef's Table holds 2 Michelin stars; the Rote Wand Stuben holds a Michelin Green Star; the hotel itself holds a Michelin Key. It's one of the very few Alpine properties where the food program is genuinely world-class and fully woven into every night's stay — breakfast, lunch, cake, and a multi-course dinner are all included in the base rate.
A farmhouse in the Zug hamlet since 1651 turned into a guesthouse in the 1950s by the Walch family — and now one of Austria's most serious culinary destinations. Five interconnected buildings plus a converted 1780s schoolhouse (the Schualhus) hold everything from a two-Michelin-star tasting table to a 1,500 m² spa. Rooms swap heavy timber for hand-hewn sycamore, ash, and spruce: clean and light rather than rustic-dark. This is Lech without the posturing.
