Why It Matters
Winner of the Luxury Lifestyle Awards Best Luxury Beach Hotel in Tabuk Province 2023. Currently the only hotel with direct beachfront access in Umluj, and coral reefs sit directly in front of the building — a genuinely rare setup. The hotel was founded by Umluj native Lafi Al Faydi as a deliberate effort to put his hometown on Saudi Arabia's tourism map.
Waves Hotel sits directly on Duqm Beach on King Abdullah Road, just north of Umluj's town center on Saudi Arabia's Red Sea coast. The six-floor building has 152 rooms split between mountain-view standards and sea-facing deluxe, premier, and suite categories — the latter hitting 130 m² with 180-degree panoramic balconies. There's a rooftop health club with Red Sea views, a palm-lined pool terrace, four dining venues, and a full-service spa. It's the only beachfront hotel in this stretch of Umluj, which makes it the default base for anyone visiting this quietly developing corner of the Red Sea.
