Why It Matters
Family-owned boutique hotel built on a 14th-century manor estate, with interior design by Monika Gogl (Gogl & Partner, Innsbruck). Every piece of furniture was crafted by regional artisans using local materials exclusively for the hotel. The farm connection is real — host Sepp Kröll personally tends 40 Pinzgau cattle, whose milk, beef and eggs appear on the dinner menu nightly. Listed by Michelin Guide and Tablet Hotels.
The Kröll family has farmed this land in the Glemmtal valley since the 14th century. Today, it's a 24-suite design hotel that somehow manages to feel like both a working farm and a high-end retreat at the same time. White, puristic main building, floor-to-ceiling glass, handcrafted oak furniture, and a courtyard fire that crackles most evenings. The ski slope ends at the door in winter. In summer, 400 km of hiking trails start right outside.

Host Sepp Kröll keeps 40 prized Pinzgau cattle on the property, which he feeds daily. Guests can observe the young cows from the spa's quiet room and engage with the working farm that supplies the restaurant.
