XVA is a 15-room boutique hotel, contemporary art gallery, and vegetarian café all packed into a restored traditional courtyard house in Al Fahidi — Dubai's oldest neighbourhood. Built in the former home of the Seddiqi family (Dubai's Rolex dealers), the property has three original wind towers, shaded courtyards full of birdsong, and walls hung with work by established and emerging Middle Eastern artists. It's the antidote to the rest of Dubai's tower-crane excess.
