YOUONEJAE
Contemporary Korean minimalism with deep roots in traditional hanok aesthetics — hanji paper windows, dark wood, ondol heated floors, and meticulous garden landscaping. Deliberately stripped of distractions.

Why It Matters
One of the few luxury hot spring hotels in Korea that meaningfully reinterprets the Japanese ryokan concept through a Korean lens. Every room gets a private outdoor spring-fed bath, meals are an integral part of the stay (fine dining dinner plus a 13-dish Korean breakfast), and the Suanbo spring water itself — 53°C, pH 8.3, gushing from 250m underground — is genuinely exceptional. Opened September 2023 and instantly booked solid despite rates starting above ₩1,360,000 per night.
YOUONEJAE is a 16-room hot spring hotel in Suanbo that took six years to build — four in design, two in construction. The name translates to 'a house where you stay for a day gazing at a garden,' and the place takes that idea seriously. Architecture and landscape deliberately evoke a traditional Korean village layout, but the execution is sharply modern: every room has its own private garden and outdoor hot spring bath fed by the 53°C Suanbo spring water. Fine dining, aromatherapy, and near-total quiet round out the experience. No kids' club, no pool deck, no conference center. This place is purely about switching off.

On Property
How you'll actually spend your days.
A shared indoor hot spring facility offering a more traditional Korean communal bathing experience, supplementing the in-room private baths.
Every room includes a private outdoor bathtub fed directly by Suanbo's 53°C natural spring water (pH 8.3, drawn from 250m underground). Minerals include lithium, calcium, sodium, fluorine, and magnesium. Known for effects on skin conditions, circulation, and fatigue recovery. Use it at any hour during your stay.
A private enclosed hot spring space for up to four guests, available in 40-minute sessions. Must be booked at the front desk upon arrival. Operating hours 09:30–21:30.
Each room's private garden is meticulously landscaped with Korean native plantings — Korean mountain camellia, apricot trees, birch, snowbell, maple. The dirt-floor courtyard in Type A rooms allows barefoot walking on natural ground. The overall property layout mimics a traditional village, making meandering between spaces part of the experience.
