Why It Matters

Named one of Forbes' 25 Coolest Hotels in the World. Invented its own category: the hybrid micro-apartment hotel where the bed is literally hidden and the big kitchen table takes center stage. The entire social infrastructure — coworking, restaurant, bar, event spaces, rooftop garden — is placed on the top floor. Eco-certified, B Corp aligned, with a rooftop greenhouse that supplies the kitchen.

Zoku Amsterdam is a 133-unit hybrid aparthotel in the Plantage neighborhood where the kitchen table — not the bed — is the star of the room. The Lofts are smart micro-apartments built around a four-person work/dining table, a full kitchen, and a lofted sleeping nook, designed equally well for a two-night trip or a three-month relocation. Everything social happens on the rooftop: coworking, the Living Kitchen restaurant, the Kindred Spirits bar, two terraces, and a greenhouse that actually grows herbs for the kitchen.
