Good to Know
Plan Dapeng Transport
Dapeng is far from central Shenzhen. For comfort, use a reputable small-group tour or a pre-booked Didi; public transport can take roughly two and a half to three hours each way.
Use Mobile Payments
Install and verify Alipay or WeChat Pay before arrival, including passport and foreign-card verification where required. Keep a small amount of cash as backup.
Respect Photography Rules
Do not photograph military facilities, border infrastructure, government checkpoints, police installations, or sensitive buildings. Avoid flying a drone unless permits and airspace restrictions are confirmed.
Prepare Chinese Details
Save your hotel name, address, and major destinations in Chinese characters. Show the address directly to taxi or Didi drivers rather than relying on pronunciation.
Watch Crowds and Weather
Use a crossbody bag and keep your phone in a front pocket in Dongmen and busy metro cars. During July through September, check typhoon forecasts daily and follow official advisories.
