Why It Matters

Built from six 19th-century Ottoman stone houses in the heart of Alaçatı's pedestrian quarter, with interior design by renowned local designer Hakan Ezer. Six restored Ottoman stone village houses, joined and reimagined into 25 individually styled rooms around a lush garden courtyard. Alavya opened in 2014 and immediately became the de facto answer to 'where to stay in Alaçatı' — earning a MICHELIN Key, landing on every hot list going, and holding that position ever since. The entry-level rooms, and still genuinely characterful. Each one is distinct — some face the courtyard, some have private patios looking into the orchard, and a few feature original stone fireplaces. Small at 18 sqm, but the Carrara marble bathrooms and Acqua di Parma amenities feel well above the footprint. Towering, heavy curtains and locally inspired decor.

Known as the Honeymoon Suite and positioned at the heart of the property. Private terrace with views across the hotel garden, a fireplace, walk-in wardrobe, and Jacuzzi. Exclusive booking only. Themed around jade's symbolism of love, serenity, and peace — which, in the context of this hotel, doesn't feel kitsch.

Two suites that earn their name. At 60 sqm each, they come with a private Jacuzzi and views of Alaçatı's iconic windmills. Walk-in wardrobes, Carrara marble bathrooms, and a contemporary feel with local touches throughout. The cheerful living room makes these feel genuinely liveable for a longer stay.

Ranging from 30 to 52 sqm, these are the step-up rooms lined with blonde wood and contemporary art from the founders' collection. Many have open-air terraces or private balconies overlooking the courtyard. Story-filled bookshelves, Carrara marble bathrooms, and more space to breathe. Lighter on local folk character than the Classics, but more serene.

The largest and most architectural room in the hotel, housed in Alavya's oldest stone building. High-beamed ceilings, a separate bedroom, living and dining area, two bathrooms, Smeg fridge, and a private terrace. Exclusive booking only — contact the hotel directly. When people say this is the best room in Alaçatı, they're not wrong.
