Why It Matters

The only luxury all-inclusive lodge on Easter Island, 2,300 miles from the South American mainland. Named World's Leading Expedition Company 2025 by the World Travel Awards. Won Condé Nast Traveler Readers' Choice Awards 2025 for Best Resorts in South America. Certified B-Corporation. Designed by award-winning architect José Cruz Ovalle. Every exploration, meal, beverage, national park fee, and airport transfer is included in the rate.

Explora Rapa Nui sits on 9.6 hectares of volcanic grassland in the Te Miro Oone sector, 8 km outside Hanga Roa — which means no archaeological remains underfoot and sweeping, unobstructed Pacific views in every direction. The architecture, by Chilean award-winner José Cruz Ovalle, echoes the island's moai in its interconnected volumes: dark timber, natural materials, shadow and light playing off a volcanic landscape. This is Explora's most dramatic property, which is saying something. Thirty rooms, no TVs, no in-room Wi-Fi. You're here to explore, not scroll.

Raa Suite
Suite

Raa Suite

The larger of the two accommodation types, with curved windows angled for maximum Pacific sea views. All-wood interiors, handmade furnishings, and a generous layout with a lounge area. Quiet, private, and worth the upgrade if you have room to spare — an extra bed for children under 12 can be added. Four of these suites in total, so availability is tighter.

Standard Room

Varúa Room

The property's 26 standard rooms, all facing the ocean or gardens. At 32 sqm they're not huge, but the floor-to-ceiling windows and minimalist design prevent any sense of claustrophobia. A jetted bathtub in every room is a signature Explora touch. Decor is intentionally pared-back — high ceilings, wooden walls, colorful soft furnishings — so the Pacific view does the talking. No TV, no in-room Wi-Fi. These rooms suit couples and solo travelers perfectly.
