Why It Matters

Fusaki sprawls along roughly 1km of west-facing beach on Ishigaki Island — Japan's southernmost resort region, closer to Taiwan than to Tokyo. The property is genuinely large: 398 rooms across distinct wings and villa clusters built in traditional Ryukyu style, with red-tiled roofs, coral hedges, and tropical gardens that make it feel like its own village. Golf carts shuttle guests from reception to far-flung villas. The pool complex ("Aqua Garden") is one of the biggest on the island; there's also a children's water park, a full spa with Bamford treatments, and multiple restaurants ranging from a buffet hall to an intimate course-dinner venue. It recently swept the World Luxury Awards 2025 across hotel, spa, and restaurant categories.
