Opened in 2018, the Gulde Schoen occupies a building complex dating to 1493 in the heart of Antwerp's old town — owned and renovated by Belgian footballer Moussa Dembélé, his mother Thilly, and sister Assita. Nine distinct luxury suites are spread across historically layered buildings (fusing the medieval-era Den Cleyne en Grooten Passer with the namesake De Ghulden Schoen), each finished with marble, solid hardwood, open fireplaces, and AXOR Citterio E bathroom hardware. The experience pitches somewhere between grand private residence and boutique hotel: butler service, individually designed suites, and a Mediterranean-Asian restaurant on the ground floor.
