Why It Matters
One of the few upscale hotels in SF where the design ethos (salvage, repurpose, local art) actually holds up on arrival. The Cavalier brasserie and Marianne's speakeasy are genuine neighborhood draws, not just hotel-captive dining. And the second-floor Playroom — shuffleboard, pool, 50+ Nintendo WiiU games — is genuinely fun.
Hotel Zetta sits in SoMa on the seam between Union Square shopping and the Moscone Center, in a 1913 building that's been fully reloaded for the tech-and-creative crowd. The design leans hard into repurpose: chandeliers built from 1,000+ recycled reading glasses, reclaimed wood floors, and artwork from working SF artists covering every wall. It opened (or rather re-opened) as Hotel Zetta in February 2013 and quickly became a go-to for business travelers who want something with actual personality.

Two DoublesPremier King Room
The most requested room type here. Artwork-covered walls, pillow-top bed, oversized butcher-block desk, and a full-size pullout sofa for an extra guest. All the standard tech package — Illy espresso machine, 46-inch smart TV, Amazon Alexa, Bluetooth speaker. Bathrobes and Lather toiletries in the bath.

The flagship room at 800 square feet. Wet bar, dining area that seats four, and two full bathrooms — meaning it's actually viable for two couples or a family. The most space you'll find here by a significant margin.
