Why It Matters

Hotel Ziggy is the rock-and-roll hotel the Sunset Strip has always deserved. Named after David Bowie's glam-rock alter ego, the 108-room property opened in 2022 and goes all in on the music concept: a live venue called Backbeat off the lobby, a Shred Shed stocked with guitars and Walkmans, music memorabilia plastered wall to wall, and the largest saltwater pool on Sunset Boulevard out back. It's also a genuine neighborhood hangout, not just a hotel, with Pizza Girl serving food all day and DJ pool parties drawing locals on weekends.

Corner configuration gives you more natural light and better sight lines than a standard room. One of the quieter room options — away from the pool party action and Backbeat venue. Good pick if you want the Ziggy vibe without being in the middle of the sound system.

The entry-level room, but still very much Ziggy. Pillow-top king bed, custom mural, 55" TV, Malin+Goetz toiletries, rainfall shower. Rooms trend toward the smaller side — bathroom layout is tight in some configurations. Great value for the location.

The top-tier room at Ziggy. A proper artist's loft at ~500 sq ft — big enough to actually spread out. The custom mural is a statement piece. Sleeps up to 4.

Updated rooms with custom murals and Sunset Strip views. A step up from the standard in decor and outlook. The mural work here is more elaborate than the base rooms — some of the most photographed spaces in the hotel.

The most fun room in the building. Ground-floor rooms that open directly onto the saltwater pool deck — equal parts hotel room and private poolside cabana. At ~275 sq ft the rooms aren't huge, but the patio essentially doubles your living space. Comes with a sectional sofa, custom mural, rainfall shower, and a Malin+Goetz bathroom. Expect DJ noise if a pool party is running.

Same pool-direct-access concept as the Swim Up King, but with two double beds — better for small groups or those who want separate sleeping space. Opens directly onto the saltwater pool courtyard.

Daily lobby gathering from 3–4PM where guests collect a complimentary margarita. The easiest way to meet fellow travelers and locals before heading to the pool or out to the Strip.
Nearly nightly live performances in the lobby-level venue. The lineup runs from emerging local artists to more established acts, with We Found New Music (WFNM) hosting free weekly shows for hotel guests twice a week. The glass garage-door setup means the lobby and venue blend when it's open.
Hotel Ziggy's free instrument and music gear lending program for guests. The kit includes electric and acoustic guitars, ukuleles, amplifiers, record players, a curated vinyl collection, Walkmans with cassette tapes, headphones, tambourines, ring lights for vlogging, and the DreamGirl Producer Bag for aspiring producers. Borrow anything, use it in your room or around the property.
Saturday and Sunday pool parties from noon to 6PM during summer months. Live DJ sets, bar service, and food from Pizza Girl. Free for hotel guests; locals can buy tickets. The saltwater pool — the largest on Sunset Blvd — is the venue.
