Book a Premium Room or Heritage Suite if bay views matter — some standard rooms face the hotel's rear loading area

Why It Matters

The Heritage Wing is housed in Sorrento's original Continental Hotel (1875 limestone structure), one of Victoria's most storied seaside buildings. Aurora Spa & Bathhouse won Best Spa in Australasia and Best Urban Bathhouse (2025) and operates as a destination in its own right. The hotel is also the only InterContinental property on the Mornington Peninsula.

A 5-star luxury hotel built around the bones of Sorrento's original Continental Hotel — a sun-bleached limestone structure dating to 1875. The Heritage Wing preserves the original architecture; the Main Wing and Riley Lane bring contemporary polish. About 90 minutes south of Melbourne on the Mornington Peninsula, with Port Phillip Bay on one side and the Bass Strait on the other, and good wine country all around. The pool deck, the award-winning Aurora Spa & Bathhouse, and a serious dining precinct mean you don't actually need to leave the property.
