Why It Matters
One of only a handful of Relais & Châteaux properties on the Côte d'Azur. The 2021 renovation added two entirely new bastides with green roofs and a Polynesian-style lagoon — genuinely unusual for inland Provence. La Table de Pierre holds Michelin recognition. The adults-only Bastide des Fleurs operates essentially as a private villa-hotel within the hotel, with dedicated butler and private pool. Open year-round.
A 5-star Relais & Châteaux resort spread across nine Provençal stone farmhouses on four hectares of Mediterranean gardens, just below the ramparts of Saint-Paul-de-Vence. Completely renovated in 2021 after 18 months of work, it pulls off the rare trick of feeling genuinely like a private estate rather than a hotel — 76 rooms, each with its own terrace or garden, tucked across separate bastides named like characters in a novel (Antonin, Camille, Florian, Estelle, Grégoire, and others). The 2,000 m² spa, Michelin-recognized restaurant La Table de Pierre, and a genuine tropical lagoon with sandy beach and waterfall complete a package that's hard to match this close to Nice.
