Why It Matters
The restaurant L'A Cheda holds Michelin Guide recognition and the Maître Restaurateur label — rare for a small boutique property. The organic kitchen garden (tended by a dedicated florist-gardener using permaculture) supplies the chef directly. The hotel is also Ecolabel-certified and a founding member of the Charte Nustrale, a Bonifacio initiative promoting exclusively local and organic produce. A new annex, A Speranza, adds 7 contemporary junior suites with private plunge pools.
A Cheda is a 4-star boutique lodge sitting in an organic garden about 3km outside Bonifacio's clifftop citadel. Six rooms built around the property's original stone and limestone architecture. Exposed beams, natural wood, and Bonifacio limestone throughout. Two rooms look onto both the potager and the garden; the others face one or the other. Compact but well-finished.

The entry-level option. Small and snug — 19–21m² — with warm Mediterranean colours and a private garden terrace. No bathtub. Best suited for a short break where you'll spend most of your time outside. Honest rooms, honestly priced for the category.

Reception can arrange boat hire and guided excursions to explore the coastline — the Lavezzi Islands, limestone sea caves, and clear-water beaches. Multiple operators available.
A cool-box prepared by the kitchen: fresh salads, cold meats, sheep's Tomme cheese, fresh fruit, and cold drinks. Order by 6pm the evening before. Price on request depending on group size.
Go behind-the-scenes with Chef Lionel: pick herbs, flowers, and ingredients from the garden, cook alongside him, then sit down to a 5-course, 8-serving surprise 'Nustrale' dinner. Available by reservation only at reception. Not available July or August.
Complimentary guest shuttle running daily to Bonifacio port and citadel, 10am–6pm, on reservation. Returns included.
9-hole course in wooded valleys near Porto-Vecchio, about 20 minutes from the hotel. Suitable for all skill levels. Book through reception and receive a complimentary course map, water, and trolley.
18-hole Robert Trent Jones Senior course overlooking the Bonifacio cliffs and the Lavezzi Islands. Famous for its 16th hole drive across open sea. About 7 minutes by car. Hotel reception can book preferential rates outside high season.
