Toile Blanche
Art-forward, owner-operated Provençal estate. Relaxed and genuinely chic rather than performatively so. No lobby theatre, no spa tower. The kind of place where the Leroy Brothers might show up at your aperitif and talk about the piece hanging above your bed.
Book directly on toileblanche.com — you get complimentary breakfast for two, best rate guarantee, and priority suite upgrades. None of this via OTAs.
Why It Matters
Owned and operated by the Leroy Brothers artist collective, who declared the property itself a work of art in 2026. Holds a Michelin Key, is a Small Luxury Hotels of the World member, and a Condé Nast Traveller Readers' Choice property. The on-site gallery, Toile Blanche Contemporary, actively supports and exhibits emerging artists.
Toile Blanche is a 22-suite art hotel built across seven stone buildings on 20,000m² of Provençal gardens just outside Saint-Paul-de-Vence. It was founded in 2004 by the Leroy Brothers — Nicolas, Gilles, and Gregory — a trio of Post-Internet artists who have spent twenty years shaping it into what it is now: part hotel, part contemporary art collection, declared an artwork in its own right in 2026. The suites mix 200-year-old farmhouse bones with modern furniture and original artworks; three shared pools plus four private ones; two restaurants worth the drive on their own.

On Property
How you'll actually spend your days.
A guided conversation about the artworks throughout the property — where each piece came from and why it's placed exactly where it is. Arranged through reception.
The Fondation Maeght is 5 minutes by car and holds one of Europe's great private modern art collections. The hotel also maps a curated gallery circuit around Saint-Paul and Vence via RAD/ART — covering studios that most visitors never find.
Bikes available to borrow for exploring the valley. The property sits on a ridge with good access to local back roads.
Movement, mindfulness, Pilates, yoga, and stretching sessions with Eve. Available in the garden or on your suite terrace.
Informal summer event — around 18h, somewhere on the property, with the Leroy Brothers present. No RSVP required. A genuinely rare chance to talk to the people who built the place.
Monthly tastings during the season led by Master of Wine Isabelle Legeron. An immersive natural wine retreat takes place each autumn. One producer at a time.
Court on the property, boules available at reception. The proper way to end an afternoon.
Three shared pools across the estate, open from mid-April. Two named pools: Pool Artiste and Pool Toile Blanche. Both open round the clock. Herb-infused cocktails can be delivered to your sun lounger.
