Walserhuus
Rustic Swiss alpine inn. Warm, family-run, zero pretension. Lots of carved wood, checked tablecloths, and the smell of pine. The restaurant doubles as a popular excursion stop for hikers and horse-carriage riders, so it can get lively at lunch.

Why It Matters
The Sertig Valley has national cultural heritage protection — only valley in Switzerland to have three mountains (Mittagshorn, Plattenflueh and Hochducan) converging at its end. The hotel is the main landmark here, and the starting point for the popular hike to the Sertig Waterfall. It's also listed on Tablet Hotels. Open 365 days a year.
The Biäsch family have run this 3-star mountain inn at the dead end of the Sertig Valley since it was built in 1999. Sitting at 1,860m above sea level, it is about 10km from Davos Platz — close to one of the highest towns in Europe, yet genuinely remote. Every room is lined in Swiss stone pine (Arvenholz), duvets are stuffed with goose down laced with pine wood shavings, and the kitchen cooks almost exclusively from regional produce.

How you'll actually spend your days.
The hotel sits right on the Sertig Valley cross-country ski trail. Gear storage is on-site.
Guests can take the free PostBus (included with the Davos Guest Card) to Davos Platz and access the Davos Klosters ski area with 269km of pistes across 5 ski areas.
The valley and surrounding plateau are accessed by marked winter hiking and snowshoe trails. The hotel is directly on the route.
The hotel's car park is the official trailhead for the Sertig Waterfall (also known as the Ducan Waterfall) hike. The 1.8-mile out-and-back trail follows the Sertigbach and Ducanbach streams to a 30-metre waterfall. Takes 1–1.5 hours total. Only accessible outside winter when the waterfall is not frozen.
Multiple hiking routes start directly from the hotel, including the Sertig Pass trail to Lai da Ravais-ch, and the Ducan Valley route via Fanezzfurgga to Monstein. A local mountain guide is bookable.
The valley has a long tradition of horse-drawn carriage rides from Davos Platz to the hotel (approximately 3.5 hours round trip including a stop at Walserhuus). In winter, horse-drawn sledges replace carriages. A classic way to arrive or depart.
On-site farm animals including ponies, goats, horses and cows. Particularly popular with families with young children.
Scooters can be rented directly at the hotel reception for a downhill run back towards Davos. Costs CHF 16 per scooter. A popular alternative to the PostBus for the descent.
The traditional Sertig swing (Swiss wrestling) takes place at the beginning of August in the valley and draws large crowds. The hotel is the closest refreshment stop.
